Changes to narrative

Changes to Narrative
My group came together while trying to decide times and order in which we could film the scenes. We realised that our initial idea of having just two settings(cafe and drama studio) would become rather dull for the viewers to watch and it did include any climax, that would keep the audience interested while awaiting the end of the video.
After discussing the problem amongst ourselves we decided to keep our original narrative but included a few more scenes. The artist would partake in a few odd job roles for people with 'low status' for instance, working in a cafe, cleaning jobs, receptionist, and working as a librarian. She appears in different settings along with a 'high status' man who has a managerial job in an office. The man never seems to take notice of her in any of her job roles. She does little things to try and get his attention, for example, she tries desperately to make eye contact with him(in library behind bookshelf), offers him his usual coffee for free at the cafe she works at (to which he declines) writes him a christmas card (to which he throws in the trash along with other 'unimportant' letters) hangs up mistle-toe above the cafe encouraging him to flirt, but he still blissfully ignorant of her effort. The fact he doesn't notice her efforts isn't because he is completely ignorant of what goes on around him but because of the different class they are in. We tried to portray how the Working class (the girl) and the middle class (the guy) don't mix, it is almost as if they are on different 'food chains'.
The performance aspect is still the same, in the drama studio with a spotlight and at the end he finally notices her when he walks past and listens to her singing.

I believe this concept is much better because their is a build up in the story and a climax at the end leaving the audience wanting more, also because the original narrative hasn't completely been tampered with it makes less work to be done.

Editing My Mock Banner
I did not do as much editing on this banner because it was only my preliminary work. Prior to this, i had never used Gimp before to edit so it was quite difficult to carry out the ideas i had in mind to to the fullest. I tried practices with gimp on other materials during my spare time so that when i got to my final product i would be more confident with using the technology. Overall gimp was quite good to use although i much prefer the use of Photoshop pro.
