Filming music video

We filmed our music video on Wednesday 14th of December. This is because it was close to the end of the school term and we knew if we did not get it done before the holiday, it would have been more difficult to get it done. We had to come together and make decisions on the best plan for out filming.
We discussed :

  • What day we would carry out the filming
  • The time of day and how long for in order to fit in with our schedules
  • We also had to contact the teachers of our actors in order to ask permission to get them out of the lesson
  • We discussed roles we each had to carry out in the group and tried to equally appoint this
  • The filming of the video was also

Digipak template

This is a typical 4panel digipak template. I chose a 4panel template because it looked like it would be more appealing and it would make the audience seek out more information that isn't included on the digipak

This template gives colour codes to help make the cd digipak as professional as possibly .
  • The front cover: This usually contains the main image, artist name and song title
  • Inside cover: this usually contains a booklet with all the songs inside and their lyrics. There can be a background image for when the booklet is removed
  • Spine: This is the part of the digipak contains the least effort, as it simply states the artist name, song/album title and record company name, however it is still important as the audience can use the spine the quickly recognise what the cd pack contains.
  • The back cover: This part has the track list which is the most important part, however it also has the record company and production names on it and the barcode in the corner.
  • Inside back cover: this is where the cd is actually placed, however once the cd is removed there isn't a blank space however usually a symbol or image which relates with the band/artist.
CONVENTIONS of a CD digipak:
  • artist/band name
  • song/album name
  • tracklist
  • visual images that relate to the song/album
  • booklet containing information on the songs and the lyrics
  • record label name and logo

This is how the cd panel looks like. I want an image on the CD so i have decided to make a separate copy of it to put onto the digipak. I am adding am image because my artist is meant to be new on the market so i want the audience to get used to seeing her image and learn to identify her logo her music.

Digipak research

These are some existing DVD Digipak. It is clear throughout each Digipak that the artists have stuck to the same style:

Adele
The album is very simple and it suits the genre. This is the style i want to create in my digipak. The dark colour of the background and the light on her face is very effective as the light contrasts against the black background making the font of the title (her name) stand out. I would like to use this idea in my digipak as I want to have a clear style and for my artist to stand out. These have given me inspiration for my ideas for my DVD Digipak, as I will keep to a similar style throughout the poster, Digipak cover and music video, making it clear that the artist has an individual style throughout their work.
